Training for Trainers!
Thank you to parents who’ve volunteered to fulfil the trainer role in season 2021. Not only is the trainer vital for the health and safety of our players, we can’t field a team without a trainer rostered on each week. Also, applying an ice pack to a sore finger or a band aid to a grazed knee is a great way to get to know the team and the players.
We’ve engaged Colbrow Medics to provide training sessions for our trainers as follows:
Wednesday 24/03/2021 - 6:30pm - 8:30pm - South Melbourne Districts Clubrooms
Wednesday 31/03/2021 - 6:30pm - 8:30pm - Port Melbourne Colts Clubrooms
Thursday 01/04/2021 - 6:30pm - 8:30pm - Port Melbourne Colts Clubrooms
Wednesday 14/04/2021 - 6:30pm - 8:30pm - South Melbourne Districts Clubrooms
The format for each training session is CPR (45 mins), first aid training (45 mins), ERC (30 mins), so you can come and go to satisfy your training requirements as needed.
For further info on training requirements, have a look at our volunteer accreditations web page.
We’re still looking for trainers for teams - the more the better, so please contact our trainer coordinator for further info.
Trainers will always be allocated the team their child is playing in to administer first aid. If you can’t make all rounds, sharing the trainer role with another parent is possible and encouraged. For all home matches, trainers are supported by our grounds medic who assists in administering first aid. To find out more about being a team manager, have a look at our trainer web page.
